Pf Profile

20 April 2012

The Dutch photography magazine for professionals Pf features my work in their Profile section. In the article I am interviewed about my way of working and the choice for working on analogue film instead of digital.

The Passport-Act project is shown as an example of my work. The photo is of Louise van Luijk, one of the first who stood up against the registration of fingerprints in a central database. I am following Louise and others for quite some time now in their lawsuit against the Dutch state. For more see: The Passport Act

Keep off my fingers

3 April 2012

'Thousands of Dutch people have no passport, because they do not want to give their fingerprints.'

Tuesday, April 3rd, NRC Next placed three photos from my series about my series on the Passport Act. In the Netherlands fingerprinting of four fingers is required  for storage in a central digital archive. Some people are against this and have started legal procedures against the Dutch State.

The flower child, the lawyer and the entrepreneur, all against fingerprint storage. Look here for the article (in Dutch only).

Photo in newsletter NVF and in magazine P/f

7 March 2012

February 24th I went to an informal meeting of the Dutch Association of Journalists (NVJ). A few days later I was approached to tell about one of my current projects for the newsletter of the NVF (Dutch association for Photographers). I put forward my project about the Passport Act and in particular the story about Louise van Luijk.
Today the newsletter went online and the photography magazine P/f (Professional Photography) will soon post about my work in the NVF-page, containing a briefdescription of this project.
Soon I will start photographing more critical passport-applicants and listen to their story.
